Quran is Kalam-e-Allah and Sura Al-Fatihah, verses 1-4, is His address to His slaves, us. As the Creator and Owner of the whole Universe, Heaven and Hell, and the Day of Judgment, He is addressing His slaves. It is very important for us to understand why He is opening communication with His introduction. To my understanding, He is establishing a pro-to-cal. He is personally and directly introducing Himself so that we know who owns us, takes care of us, provides our sustenance, and more importantly, who will Judge our performance, and reward or punish on the day of Judgment. Therefore, just like the first orientation meeting we know, He is introducing Himself so that we pay due respect to Him, maintain discipline, and reach Him when we need His help. During His introduction, He is also telling us, though He is Kind, Affectionate, Loving and caring, He is also the owner of the whole universe and the Day of Judgment, so on the Day of Judgment besides being Merciful and Compassionate He would also be Just. Therefore, He is reminding us that don’t count on Him just being Kind, Merciful, and compassionate, but also remember He is Just. Therefore, on the Day of Judgment, we would be rewarded or punished according to our deeds, no more, no less, just what we earned and deserved. Therefore, He introduced Himself so that if we expect from Him anything more than what we earned and deserved then that would be Devil’s deception.
